The Grill Room
Open early, serving a mighty full Welsh Breakfast to set you up for a day of exploring Snowdonia.
Our evening specials menu concentrates on local produce delivered with a twist. Like this seasons Hay Seared Chicken or Wye Smoked Salmon Terrine with wasabi mayo and sweet pickled ginger.
Discover a new dining taste with the thrill of the Grill! Why not try a dish which has been totally cooked over charcoal from our new Spanish Josper oven – the hottest indoor barbecue available! Which adds lots of unctuous flavour from it’s fine embers, increasing the juiciness of the meat by retaining moisture and flavour.
We’re open all day, every day from 7.45am
The team at the Grill Room are passionate about serving local, seasonal fresh produce.
Local farms? We source meat as locally as we can – check out their locations on our PGI map – from field to plate with full traceability.
If you’re a steak lover then one of our secret weapons is the Dry Ager – one of the oldest techniques out there. Dry ageing produces a steak that’s incomparable to an ordinary cut of beef, with an aroma reminiscent of butter and nuts. To intensify the flavour even further we use Himalayan salt blocks in the agers, the salt absorbs moisture and helps to purify the air even further.
The Llugwy River Restaurant
Bringing you a menu that celebrates seasonality and local produce. Our food ethos has been influenced over the years as more amazing producers and suppliers have sprung up locally selling, growing and rearing Welsh produce and livestock.
Following on from our Celebration of Wales set menu, this year has seen us experiment with BespOAK happenings and PopUp events. We’ve developed a new menu going into 2020 which encompasses our passion for local, seasonal and fresh.
Keep up to date with our new supplier search on our social media pages or check out our blog. We also serve our lounge menu in the Llugwy on Saturday afternoons (cake and cocktails anyone….)
Call to book your table 01690 710219
Open from 6pm-9pm Thursday & Friday. 12-9pm on Saturday & 12-4pm Sundays
Please ask your server for any special dietary requests you may have or ask to see our allergens book for advice on ingredients.
The restaurant is also available for weddings, corporate functions, family gatherings and celebratory bespoke events – we’ve seen many a memory made and quite a few proposals over the years. The most recent being a ‘will you marry me’ written in chocolate piping on a dessert order…
welcoming, cosy, comfortable
From morning coffee to evening cocktails the Lounge is a space to meet up with friends or relax with a drink after dinner.
Serving a selection of light lunches and snacks showcasing Welsh recipes – one of the faves being our Welsh Rarebit on bloomer – add some Llanrwst smokey bacon for serious local fayre.
Or get your sweet tooth on! From 10am-5pm you can sample our delicious range of sweet treats from homemade fruit scones to locally baked Tandderwen Teacakes as well as great coffee!
And for special late afternoons why not try one of our Squiffy Teas – a wonderful selection of afternoon treats swapping out your brew for bubbles!
Swap an Oolong for a botanical in the evening and taste test from a whole range of craft gins. Snowdonia has emerged as an artisan haven of late and with our glut of wild botanicals it’s not difficult to understand why makers are being drawn to our naturally abundant area.
You can also shake, muddle or stir and try one of our seasonal cocktails – our fave last year had to be a Ginger and Rhubarb Mule – had a kick to it….
Our extensive wine list is specially selected by local independent wine merchants Ffarm Vintners. Who discover little gems through the winemaking world by personally visiting independent wine makers, viticulturists and growers.
Keeping our Welsh link fresh we currently have a fabulous Merlot-Malbec from Patagonia on the list, there’s no hiraeth like Y Wladfa hiraeth!
Our loose leaf tea is sourced through Chantler Teas, a family business based in Pembrokeshire. The Chantler family have travelled the world visiting tea plantations in India, Sri Lanka and South-East Asia and attending tea ceremonies in Hong Kong and Malaysia. They are passionate about a fair world marketplace and source from ethical growers with the best varieties they can find. Their mission is to convert as many of us as possible to drinking loose leaf and not dusty teabag tea, one of the many reasons we love working with them!
