We’re delighted to unveil our newly refurbished lounge area — a space thoughtfully reimagined to celebrate comfort, craftsmanship and local creativity.

From the very beginning, this project was about more than simply refreshing a room. We wanted to create an environment that feels authentic to us and our heritage here in Eryri, to celebrate our links to the land and the culture we are a part of. By collaborating with talented local makers, and focussing on creating interiors with integrity, we’ve transformed our lounge into a space rich with texture, warmth, and genuine local character.

Celebrating Local Design

We were thrilled to partner with local fabric designer Anna Pritchard, whose distinctive approach to colour and pattern has brought a completely new energy to the space.

Specialising in weave, Anna creates luxurious fabrics and blankets rich in colour, character and storytelling.
Anna lives on a smallholding in the Dyffryn Ogwen Valley with her husband and young family. As one of the oldest farming families still working the valley, their heritage runs deep — and it is woven into every design she creates.
Her fabrics tell the story of local farming traditions, childhood memories, and the landscape itself. From the distinctive ear notches used to identify sheep on the mountains, to the shearing scissors that shape them, the slate fence pillars embedded in local history, and the wildflowers she once carefully collected and catalogued — each motif carries meaning.
Rooted in tradition yet reflecting the evolution of modern farming, her work is united by a bold passion for colour, inspired by the dramatic seasons and natural beauty of Wales.

Crafted from the Woodland

At the heart of the lounge you’ll find our striking live-edge oak coffee tables, handcrafted by local maker Rob from Noho Furniture. What makes these pieces especially meaningful is their origin: the timber was felled from our own woods directly behind the hotel.
Rob’s craftsmanship honours the natural character of the oak, preserving the organic lines and grain that make each table entirely unique. The live edges celebrate the story of the tree itself — a subtle reminder of the landscape that surrounds us.

Interiors with Integrity

Collaborating with talented local artisans allows us to do more than create beautiful interiors. It enables us to support our creative community and ensure that every element of the space has a story behind it.

Not only that but all the trades involved also live on our doorstep and wrork in our communities, from D. Cousins Decorators and CJ Carpets to Bastable Upholstery – we know the teams who help us maintain the heritage we are guardians of. These working relationships are forged in trust and a mutual understading of how local businesses working together support community and local economics.

The newly refurbished lounge is a reflection of what we value: thoughtful design, sustainability, and genuine craftsmanship. It’s a place to gather, to relax, and to feel connected — not just to the space, but to the people, the stories and landscape that shaped it offering us a masterclass in shaping interiros with intergrity.
