Oakfest 2013!

Oakfest 2013 is looming, and with even more acts confirmed, this year is all set to be a blinder!

With only another two weeks to go, the Stables bar is relentlessly preparing for a busy day of music, madness and mischief! From 1pm on Saturday September the 7th the Stables courtyard will begin with an array of folk, indie, blues and rock music. Nocturne at the Stables – 22nd of March

On Friday the 22nd of March, Nocturne returned to the Stables Bar in Betws-Y-Coed to serenade guests with the classical Spanish guitar playing of Anthony and the versatile vocal tones of Donna.

Playing covers of a number of tracks including Adele’s ‘To Make You Feel My Love’ and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Paint it Black’, vocalist Donna adjusts her voice to suit a variety of contrasting songs. Continue reading “Nocturne at the Stables – 22nd of March”

Brandistock at the Stables Bar – 15th March

Describing themselves as ‘Broadly Celtic with American, Canadian and English influences’, Brandistock have been satisfying the ears of folk lovers for ten years.

After their fourth member left the band to work in Sierra Leone, Dennis Bennet (banjo, bodhran and vocals), Rick Harding (guitar, mandolin and vocals) and Gaffer (Concertina and wind synth) have continued as a three piece and are now entering their second year.
